Final Painting
From my demonstration
for
The Seabrook Island Art Association April 2008.
I was asked to give a talk and a
demonstration to the wonderful artists at Seabrook Island, SC in April
this year. I gave them a choice of two of my favorite subjects for me to
paint for them. (Gondolas or Shrimp Boats, imagine that?)
They chose gondolas. This was a
picture from my first year in Venice. I must have taken several hunderd
pics of gondolas while I was there. This was the best and has become a
series. I took this from the water, so the perspective is looking at the
boats from their level. I've worked on this subject with two
boats, three boats and in large and small format. I actually have one
large one from this reference almost finished in the studio. It's 36x48
inches, which is huge for me. I hope to have it's pic posted later
this week.
