Artist's Notes
In my first career in radio, I spent my days writing
commercials and proposals, so writing has always been a big part of my
creative process. For many years I wrote for an hour before I went into the
studio...finding my inspiration. After learning about plein air painting, that
was replaced with the actuality of being out in nature (frolicking in the
marsh or on the beach) to become inspired. Now, it seems it has come full
circle (as in all things) and I like writing a little about the paintings
after I paint them. Sometimes, especially on the little ones that are on
boards, I record my thoughts on the back of the panel. So you may
find that on some if you flip them over when you seen them in the
galleries.
Here are just a few notes about what I thought about while painting some of
these....hope you enjoy. And, I offer my
appreciation to you for taking your time to look at my new work. Karen
