From time to time, I
get asked; "Do you do commissioned works".
The answer is "Yes". If time permits, I am happy to work on a
commissioned basis. Here's how it works...
Commission Costs: Just
add 10% to the price of the size painting you would like.
For example, if you want a small commission, say an 8x6 inch painting of
one of your last summer vacation pictures, it would be $550 which
includes a frame. My normal 8x6 inch paintings are $500.
Commission Subjects: I do
landscapes, architecture and other subjects (except people portraiture)
in the loose impressionistic style you see in my other paintings. I can
work from your photo or from my photo of your subject.

if you'd like to commission a portrait)
Timing: Usually, it takes about
a month for me to complete a painting. More if there are several or if
there extra trip to the subject needed. Once I know what you want, I'll
give you a firm date for delivery. You choose the size, and the subject,
I'll provide a rough pencil or ink sketch with details and a contract
with your delivery date.
Once you send the deposit of 50%, I'll
get started on it for you. When I'm about 80% done, I'll send an
email pic for you or invite you to come see the painting and if you have
any suggestions, that is a good time to address them. Payment of the
balance is due before shipping and delivery. Shipping is extra and
will be quoted prior to shipment. Any applicable sate sales tax
will apply.
Commissions of my past: I have
completed very large landscapes for private yacht clubs, elegant resort
hotels, yacht brokers and for many friends and patrons. I've painted en
plein air on large open lands before the building of a home began.
(which I adored) I can work from your European or American
vacation photos, photos of your boat, your backyard view. I've done
poppies, sailboat, shrimp boats and marsh scenes. Even pet
portraits. I enjoy doing commissioned work. In 2010, I completed
17 commissioned paintings.
Commissioned paintings make great
gifts, are lasting remembrances, are unique and thoughtful and can be
passed down through your family as time goes on.
